Presenting The Manufacture: An H. Moser & Cie. mockumentary

Ever wondered what a TV show about us would look like? Probably not, but here you go anyway. Presenting The Manufacture, a playful homage from our exceptional team at Moser, filmed like a well-known mockumentary workplace comedy. (You know the one, but our lawyers insist we keep it vague.) The Manufacture celebrates the people behind our Very Rare creations: the masters of their craft who spend years perfecting impossibly precise details, all while staying true to our spirit. As an independent, integrated manufacture, it really does take a village to imagine, develop and share our exquisite timepieces with the world. From our designers to engineers to master watchmakers, The Manufacture pays tribute to the brains (and brawn) behind our horological wonders. You’ll meet a diverse cast of characters, learn about their roles, and discover how their unique talents come together to make something truly extraordinary. So go on, watch the show, share a laugh and then scroll down for a deeper dive into what makes us tick.

Our watchmaking wizards

The stars of The Manufacture? Our phenomenal watchmakers. These are the people who bring to life our most intricate complications. Like our highly intuitive and award-winning Perpetual Calendar or our hypnotising Flying Hours. To conjure up these in-house innovations, we’re proud to have the best in the business. Whether they’re producing movements, creating flawless finishes or matching double hairsprings with near-psychic precision, Florin, Emelie, Judith and Anna-Lena embody our dedication to tradition and craftsmanship. The pinnacle of in-house engineering.

Watch manufacturer or delicatessen?

At Moser, creative freedom is an integral part of our DNA. Kaspar started as a watchmaker and now brings that experience to our design team, showing how people here can grow and evolve. Ersan shares that fearless creativity, turning our wild ideas into Very Rare realities. Over the years, we’ve crafted watches from Vantablack, tantalum, precious stones, plants and even cheese. As Ersan says, ‘Sometimes I’m not sure if this is a watch manufacturer or a delicatessen’. Behind all of this lies some serious watchmaking. Every single component inside a Moser watch is produced in-house, in our state-of-the-art machine shop, where technology meets craftsmanship.

Spiral Squad: masters of the double hairspring

Our sister company, Precision Engineering AG, allows us to do what very few watchmakers in the world can: produce many of our key components in-house, including our signature hairsprings. This level of integration and independence is what sets us apart in the watchmaking industry. Led by Stephan, our team transforms delicate spools of wire into perfectly calibrated hairsprings. Then, skilled watchmakers like Judith, assisted by high-end technology, go to great lengths to find the right pairs of double hairsprings, an extraordinary craft that epitomises our quest for precision.

A Very Rare heritage

We’ve been around for a while. Since 1828, to be precise. If you ever visit our museum in Schloss Charlottenfels, our curator Mandy will happily take you on a journey through our history—from founder Heinrich Moser to the family-run company we remain today. Unlike many others, we’ve stayed true to ourselves: fiercely independent, proudly pioneering, and deeply rooted in the traditions of high horology. Because when you own your story, you get to write the next chapter your way.
